Is the ex-wife who recently embraced Islam considered eligible for Zakat under the category of "those whose hearts are to be reconciled" (Al-Mu'allafati Quloobuhum), knowing that she works and has an income, but does not save money, is afflicted with cancer, and spends on her son, while taking into consideration the priority of the poor?

It is not permissible to give zakat (definition) to one's divorced wife with the intention that she is among those whose hearts are to be reconciled (al-mu'allafah qulubuhum), even if she is a recent convert to Islam and the aim is to strengthen her faith. It was previously concluded that it is not permissible to give zakat to a woman who is a recent convert to Islam on the grounds that she is among those whose hearts are to be reconciled.
