The for gold, at which becomes obligatory, is approximately 85 grams of 24-karat gold. As for the gold pound (جنيه الذهب), its weight is usually 8 grams of 21-karat gold, and Zakat is not obligatory on it until it reaches eleven and a half pounds. Accordingly, four gold pounds are not subject to Zakat because they have not reached the nisab.
