What is the religious ruling regarding businessmen who lavishly spend their money on marrying actresses and on private entertainment, while others suffer from poverty and hunger?

The reality of many wealthy Muslims is unfortunate, as they are either spending their money on haram (definition) (forbidden things) or exceeding moderation to extravagance and wastefulness. This is something Allah has forbidden; He says, "And do not be extravagant. Indeed, He does not like extravagant ones" [Al-A'raf:31]. And in the Hadith (definition): "Indeed, Allah dislikes for you gossip, excessive questioning, and wasting wealth." These individuals must be advised and reminded of the consequences of their actions, and they should be urged to fulfill the rights of wealth and Zakat (definition).
