The answer

There is no harm in raising a wolf, and the rulings concerning dogs do not apply to it. As for hybridizing wolves with dogs, their ruling is the ruling for dogs, so it is not permissible to raise or own them except for a need such as hunting or guarding. Regarding the jinn's fear of wolves, no evidence has been reported to prove or deny this. Sheikh Abdullah bin Abdul Rahman Al-Jibreen mentioned that he does not rule out the possibility that Allah might have given the wolf a strong sense of smell or sight for the jinn, which might prevent the jinn from assuming the form of a wolf and cause them to fear its scent.
