What is the ruling on raising and selling an animal resulting from the mating of a dog and a wolf, whether the father is a dog and the mother is a wolf, or vice versa, or if it is a hybrid of two hybrid parents?

Jurists have agreed on the prohibition of keeping dogs except for a need, such as hunting or guarding. Most scholars consider the buying and selling of dogs to be absolutely forbidden.

However, the more correct view is the permissibility of buying and selling dogs that are authorized to be kept for hunting and similar purposes. Therefore, there is no harm in raising dogs and trading them if they are for uses permissible by Islamic law, such as hunting, livestock herding, and guarding.

Similarly, it is permissible to sell wild beasts and birds that are suitable for hunting or other benefits, as long as they are not inherently forbidden, such as pigs.
