Everything that befalls a servant is by the decree of Allah the Almighty, and it is not possible to definitively assert that certain signs indicate love or its absence; for this is from the knowledge of the unseen. These signs may be a mercy, a reminder, an admonition, or a proof from Allah. Whoever experiences such things should ponder and pay attention, in fulfillment of His, the Almighty's, saying: "And those who, when reminded of the verses of their Lord, do not fall upon them deaf and blind." We also recommend reviewing previous fatwas regarding having good thoughts about Allah, strengthening faith, avoiding sins, and repenting.
