What is the ruling on reading a novel in which a person, after an accident, looks into people's eyes and tells them things about their past, and is one absolved of responsibility by saying, "I don't know," when experiencing whispers (waswasa) that declare what is lawful as unlawful or what is unlawful as lawful?

Obsessive thoughts related to Islamic rulings should be ignored, and saying "Allah knows best" absolves one's responsibility. It is not permissible to read novels that claim humans can know the unseen, for Allah alone knows the unseen, as He states: "Say, 'None in the heavens and earth knows the unseen except Allah.'"
