The answer

Grief over the death of a mother and siblings does not cause the death of the remaining siblings. A person's appointed time of death is predetermined; it neither increases nor decreases, as Allah Almighty says: "And when their term comes, they will not remain behind an hour, nor will they precede [it]." We advise alleviating grief because it is of no benefit and does not avert divine decree. However, mere sadness of the heart does not make a person sinful.
