Why did God choose this type of death for my 25-year-old brother, and what is the wisdom behind my devout parents witnessing this sorrow? How can we help our absent brother and convey our salutations to him? Do the calm marks on his face after death indicate anything, especially since the cause of death was a fractured spine and not asphyxiation, and given his friends’ testimony that he was not contemplating suicide, which raises doubts about the nature of his death?

Everything is by the decree and wisdom of Allah. Suicide is a major crime with severe punishment in the Hereafter, as stated in the Quran and Sunnah. The righteousness of parents does not prevent tribulation through calamities, which serve to elevate ranks and expiate sins. A believing person afflicted by tribulation endures with patience, and all his affairs are good. One who commits suicide, having been upright, is hoped to receive forgiveness. However, if they knew of its prohibition and still committed it, then they are under the Will of Allah. The good condition of the deceased during ghusl (washing) may indicate a good end, but it cannot be asserted with certainty. It is permissible to supplicate for the forgiveness of a Muslim who committed suicide. It is not permissible to object to the decree of Allah.
