How authentic is the following Hadith: "Supplication is beneficial against what has descended and what has not descended"?
The : "Indeed, supplication benefits regarding what has descended and what has not descended," has a weak chain of transmission, but its meaning is sound. Sheikh Ibn Baz was asked about its meaning and confirmed that it is sound, for supplication benefits regarding what has descended and what has not descended of the destinies () that are contingent upon supplication. Nothing averts divine decree except supplication. Supplication contains immense good, and Allah the Almighty has commanded His servants to supplicate and promised them a response, as He says: "Call upon Me; I will respond to you," and "And when My servants ask you concerning Me, then [answer them], I am indeed near. I respond to the invocation of the supplicant when he calls upon Me." Therefore, a believer should supplicate frequently, persist in it, and ask his Lord for His bounty.
