Is the seven-year emotional relationship between a committed girl and a young man, whose marriage was refused by the parents, considered forbidden (haram)? And does this contradict God's decree (qadar)? What is the legitimate (shar'i) way out of this relationship?

The relationship of love between men and women is detailed in Fatwa (definition) No. 34504. As for a woman saying that the matter is by Allah's will, this is a false argument, because Allah condemned those who used His will to justify their polytheism, as the disbelievers of Quraish said: "If the Most Merciful had willed, we would not have worshipped them" and "If Allah had willed, we would not have associated [anything with Him]." One must act and take the lawful means and not rely solely on destiny, for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Work, for everyone is facilitated for that for which he was created," and "Destiny is to be invoked in calamities, not in faults."
