What was the creed of Imam Al-Bukhari, may Allah have mercy on him?

Imam Bukhari's creed is the creed of the righteous predecessors, based on the Qur'an and Sunnah (definition), and the understanding of the early generations of the Muslim community. This is evidenced by his books, such as Sahih (definition) al-Bukhari, Khalq Af'al al-'Ibad, and Juz' al-I'tiqad. In these works, he asserts that faith is both word and deed. He affirms the divine attributes literally, such as Allah's exaltedness ('Uluw), Face (Wajh), Hands (Yadayn), Speech (Kalam), and Voice (Sawt). He also affirms the voluntary actions of Allah, distinguishes between an act and the acted upon, believes in divine decree (Qadar (definition)), reveres the Companions, warns against innovations (bid'ah), enjoins adherence to the community (jama'ah), and prohibits rebellion against rulers. In his creed, he follows the methodology of his teachers and the imams who preceded him. Bukhari also excelled in refuting the Jahmiyyah and Mu'attilah in his Kitab al-Tawhid (definition) wa al-Radd 'ala al-Jahmiyyah (Book of Monotheism and Refutation of the Jahmiyyah) within his Sahih.
