Has the Qur'an been referred to as "spirit" (ruh) in the Holy Qur'an and the Prophetic Sunnah, and where are the mentions of that?

The Quran is called "Ruh" (Spirit) in the Quran and Sunnah (definition) because it is a life for hearts and souls, saving them from the death of disbelief. Through it, hearts are brought to life just as the body is brought to life by the spirit. As Almighty Allah says: "And thus We have sent to you a Rūḥ (inspiration and a Book, i.e. the Qur’ān) of Our Command. You knew not what was the Book, nor what was Faith. But We have made it a light wherewith We guide whosoever of Our slaves We will. And verily, you (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) are indeed guiding (mankind) to the Straight Path."
