Al-Tha'labi narrated on the authority of Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) that leaving spiderwebs in houses brings poverty, and no one commented on it. It is to remove them from houses, because it is part of the cleanliness that the Lawgiver encouraged. It is sunnah to kill some of them if they are venomous.
