What is the ruling on swearing by "Aman Allah" (God's protection/security)?
Source: FtawySummarized from the full answer at Ftawy · imported Sep 2, 2026
It is impermissible to swear an oath except by the names and attributes of Allah Almighty, based on the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "Whoever swears an oath, let him swear by Allah, or else remain silent," and his saying: "Whoever swears by other than Allah has committed polytheism." The phrase "Allah's security" (أمان الله) is not among the names or attributes of Allah Almighty, so it is not valid to swear by it. Indeed, the Prophet (peace be upon him) prohibited swearing by trust/faithfulness (أمانة), saying: "He is not one of us who swears by the trust/faithfulness."
