What are the sources of reception and legislation for each of the following: the Rawāfiḍ, the Khawārij, the Murjiʾah, the Qadariyyah, and the Jahmiyyah? And what books can be referenced on this subject?
Refer to Al-Mawsu'ah Al-Muyassarah fi Al-Adyan wal-Madahib wal-Ahzab Al-Mu'asirah (The Simplified Encyclopedia of Contemporary Religions, Schools of Thought, and Parties), Maqalat al-Islamiyyin by Al-Ash'ari, Al-Fasl fi al-Milal wal-Nihal by Ibn Hazm, Minhaj as- by Ibn Taymiyyah, and Al-Mujaz fi al-Adyan wal-Madahib al-Mu'asirah (Abridged [Book] on Contemporary Religions and Schools of Thought) to understand the sources from which these groups receive their knowledge.
It is advised, first and foremost, to seek religious knowledge pertaining to creed (aqidah), acts of worship (ibadat), and dealings (mu'amalat), for that is what a person will be questioned about on the Day of Resurrection.
