What is the ruling on one who has not purified himself (been circumcised) until the age of twenty-four, and is it considered unlawful if he dies in this state or gets married?

There is no disagreement among scholars regarding the permissibility of circumcision for males, though they differed on its ruling, between obligation (wujub) and Sunnah (definition) (recommendation). A Muslim must perform it unless it results in harm. Whoever dies as an adult uncircumcised, despite being able to do so, is sinful, and he should not be circumcised after his death. Circumcision does not affect the validity of marriage.
