Do the parents who sponsor orphans bear the burden of their sins—such as abandoning prayer and not wearing hijab—if they (the orphans) do not adhere to the teachings of the religion?
Children below the age of puberty are not obligated to pray. However, their guardians must train them to pray, especially those who reach ten years of age, at which point they should be disciplined for not praying. As for children who have reached the age of religious obligation and insist on abandoning prayer or , it is not permissible to continue showering them with kindness, and it may become necessary to distance them from the home. This is because abandoning prayer is considered disbelief by some scholars, and hijab is an obligation upon the pubescent female. It is also advisable to counsel the elder sister, as her righteousness may influence theirs.
