Is it permissible to revoke the guardianship of a father who consumes alcohol and drugs and beats his daughters, knowing that their mother is divorced and lives in her own private accommodation?

If the question is about the responsibility of fostering girls, then the girl must be with the father when she reaches the age of seven. However, custody is forfeited by a فاسق (transgressor/immoral) father, especially if he brings immoral people into the house and there is fear for the girls from them. In this case, it is advisable to refer the matter to the Sharia (definition) judge or Islamic centers to ascertain whether the father is unfit for custody so that it may transfer to whoever is more deserving. It is preferable to marry off the girls to righteous men, as that might be a solution to the problem.
