There is no specific supplication (dua) upon the birth of a newborn. However, it is recommended to recite the (call to prayer) into the baby's right ear only.

Naming the child with the names of prophets, such as Idris, is recommended.

It is permissible to appoint someone to act on your behalf in performing the (sacrifice for a newborn), especially if the other country is poorer.

The aqiqah is a confirmed (practice of the Prophet) and not an obligation according to the majority of scholars.
