Is there a legal reference that compiles the juristic rulings related to veterinary medicine to determine the ruling on procedures performed on animals such as mice and dogs, killing animals for experiments, and treating harmful vermin?
Treating animals is a good deed for which the doer will be rewarded, as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "In every wet liver there is a reward." Ibn Battal urged showing mercy to all creatures, Muslim and non-Muslim, and to all animals. Muslims throughout history established endowments for treating animals. We hope that whoever performs this work will seek recompense from God, and that God will have mercy on him just as he had mercy on the animal, for in the : "And the sheep: if you show mercy to it, God will show mercy to you." We advise further reading from specialized books on the jurisprudence of veterinary medicine.
