Was the prohibition of music mentioned in the Holy Quran, and in which Surah and verse?
Allah mentioned the prohibition of singing in Luqman, verse six: "And of the people is he who buys a diversion of speech to mislead [others] from the way of Allah without knowledge and who takes it in ridicule. Those will have a humiliating punishment." What is established in the purified does not differ from the Holy Quran, for both are a revelation from Allah: "Nor does he speak from [his own] inclination. It is not but a revelation revealed," and "And whatever the Messenger has given you - take; and what he has forbidden you - refrain from," and "So let those beware who dissent from his order, lest fitnah strike them or there come upon them a painful punishment."
