What is the ruling on holding mixed farewell parties for both sexes, and what is the ruling on treatment using music?

Parties should not involve intermingling. Rather, it is obligatory that men's parties be for men and women's parties for women. Intermingling is an evil and an act of the people of Jahiliyyah (pre-Islamic ignorance). Therapy through music has no basis; rather, it is an act of the foolish, and music is a disease and illness for the hearts, and a cause for moral deviation. Beneficial therapy involves letting the sick hear the Quran, admonitions, and beneficial narrations. Therapy through music and other musical instruments only increases their illness and distances them from hearing the Quran and the Sunnah (definition).
