This statement is narrated as a from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, with the wording: "Whoever seeks forgiveness for believing men and believing women twenty-seven times every day, will be among those whose prayers are answered, and through whom the inhabitants of the earth are provided for." It was narrated by Al-Tabarani. Its chain of narration has been weakened due to the presence of Uthman ibn Abi Atikah, whom the majority of scholars weakened, and Al-Albani also weakened him.
