What is there in the Qur’an and Sunnah that helps strengthen memory for forgetting things related to daily activities?
Forgetfulness is a human nature that varies among people, and it can be resisted in several ways:
1. Avoiding sins: Sins negatively affect memory and academic achievement, as Imam Al-Shafi'i (may Allah have mercy on him) said: "I complained to Waki' about my poor memory... so he guided me to abandon sins."
2. Frequent remembrance of Allah: As Allah Almighty says: "And remember your Lord when you forget."
3. Reducing food intake: Excessive eating leads to excessive sleep, dullness, weakness of mind, and laziness.
4. Consuming certain foods: Such as honey, raisins, and some types of frankincense, which enhance memory, while avoiding excessive intake of sour foods.
5. Cupping (hijama) on the head: This has been proven effective in strengthening memory.
