Whoever dies in a car accident is hoped to be a martyr because he may be joined with the martyr of the collapse mentioned in the Hadith (definition). However, martyrdom cannot be definitively asserted for him due to the absence of an explicit text. As for the brother who was not afflicted, he is not a martyr, but if he endures the calamity with patience, he will be rewarded for his patience.
