Is the death of a mother, her five-month pregnant wife, and her unborn daughter in a car accident considered among the degrees of martyrdom? And will Allah accept them as martyrs, and will they be intercessors or a reason for entering Paradise, illuminating their graves and alleviating the questioning from them?
Whoever loses a loved one and endures with patience and seeks Allah’s reward, Allah will build for him a house in Paradise called the House of Praise (Bayt al-Hamd). Young children intercede for their parents on the Day of Judgment, and a miscarriage will drag its mother to Paradise if she seeks Allah’s reward for it. One who dies in a car accident may be considered a martyr, akin to those who die by demolition or drowning, if the conditions of martyrdom are met and its impediments are absent. A woman who dies during her pregnancy is considered a martyr. The martyr of a battle against disbelievers has a greater virtue and intercedes for seventy of his household, and no other type of martyr can attain this rank.
