Is someone who dies in a car accident considered a martyr?

The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, mentioned various types of martyrs, including those who die by drowning, plague, abdominal illness, or collapse, in addition to those killed in the path of Allah and those who die in His path. These martyrs receive great favor and reward from Allah. The best of martyrs are those who are killed in the path of Allah; they are not washed nor prayed over, for they are alive with their Lord. As for the martyrs of the Hereafter, such as those who die from abdominal illness, plague, collapse, or drowning, they are washed and prayed over. Those who die in car accidents are appended to them by analogy with those who die by collapse.
