How is the deceased to be washed if he died in a state of major ritual impurity (junub) due to sexual intercourse?

The madhhab (definition) of the majority of jurists is that if a deceased person dies while in a state of janabah (definition) (major ritual impurity), they are given one ritual bath for death, and not another bath for janabah. This is because by their death, they have exited the domain of legal accountability, and their obligations have ceased. Ibn Qudamah mentioned that this is the saying of the scholars of the major cities, and that Al-Hasan (definition) Al-Basri held the view that the deceased should be bathed for janabah first, then for death. However, the first opinion is more appropriate because the ritual bath for the deceased is an act of worship (ta'abbud), and one bath suffices.
