Is it permissible to supplicate with the following formula: "My Lord, do not entrust me to anyone, nor make me in need of anyone, and make me independent of everyone, O You to whom belongs all support, and upon whom all reliance is placed, He is the One, the Unique, the Eternal, Who has no partner nor son. O Allah, return me from error to guidance, and keep me away from every sin and distress"?

One must differentiate between two types of supplication (du'a): The first is supplication restricted by a specific time, place, or act of worship. In this type, one must adhere strictly to what is ورد in the Sharia (definition), without adding or subtracting anything. The second type is absolute supplication, which involves asking Allah for general and specific needs. It is not a condition for this type of supplication to be explicitly established (in the texts); rather, it suffices that its words are legislatively sound and do not contain sin or severing of kinship ties.
