The mosque holds great importance in Islam. It spreads Islam, educates and unites Muslims, and assists those in need. Allah has testified to the faith of those who build and maintain mosques with obedience, and has praised their diligence in remembrance and acts of worship. He has also encouraged its construction, stating that whoever builds a mosque, Allah will build for him a house in Paradise. Building the mosque was the first thing the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, did upon his arrival in Medina, and it was a refuge for the weak and those in need.
