What are the pieces of advice and guidance for someone who has recently become religiously committed, so that they may remain steadfast in their commitment and not relapse, and what are the recommended books to read after the Holy Quran?

To maintain guidance after repentance, the following is recommended: thanking and praising Allah, adhering to acts of obedience and drawing closer to Him through supererogatory acts, aspiring to Allah's pleasure, seeking sacred knowledge, being keen on good company and abandoning bad company, being cautious of sins both minor and major, being cautious of the temptation of wealth, filling the heart with faith, marriage, and acting with discernment in performing acts of obedience and wisdom in da'wah (inviting to Islam).

As for the beginner student of knowledge, he must purify his intention, be patient, act upon what he knows, start with the smaller matters of knowledge before the larger ones, read under a trusted shaykh, diversify methods of seeking knowledge, acquire verified books, not begin with books of discord before mastering the fundamentals, be humble, not rush to issue fatwas, and review, record benefits, and teach the ignorant.
