With what do I begin my commitment?

A servant who is new to religious commitment should channel their high aspiration and feeling of inadequacy into fruitful actions by: memorizing the Quran and seeking Islamic knowledge, keeping good company, listening to scholarly lectures, frequently remembering Allah and reciting the prescribed daily invocations, striving in voluntary acts of worship, cultivating good morals, and frequently supplicating with the prayer: "O Allah, Controller of hearts, direct our hearts to Your obedience."
