Is it obligatory for a Muslim woman who is new to the Arabic language to learn it, or is it sufficient for her to read a translated Quran?

A woman must learn the Arabic language to the extent that enables her to perform her obligatory duties, such as reciting Al-Fatihah, short surahs, and the obligatory invocations in prayer. This is because Arabic is the language of the Qur’an and Sunnah (definition), and they cannot be understood except by learning it. Moreover, learning it is beneficial for reading the Qur’an, the Sunnah, the biographies of the righteous predecessors, and the prophetic invocations. We advise expending effort in learning it, for Allah helps those who rely on Him and have sincere intentions.
