The answer

It is not permissible to keep idols in the house without alteration. Scholars have unanimously agreed on the necessity of altering any three-dimensional images of living beings, with the exception of the permissibility reported concerning dolls for young girls. The hadiths condemning images in the house are numerous. Furthermore, it is not permissible to gift idols to anyone, even a disbeliever, because it is assisting them in wrongdoing, and Allah Almighty has prohibited cooperation in sin and aggression.
