The answer

The soul is seized, and the gaze follows it, as is affirmed in Muslim. The soul also ascends to the heavens after its seizure. Al-Suyuti described it as being in the likeness of the human body and the size of its limbs, which was narrated from Ibn Abbas. It is more appropriate not to delve into the description of the soul, because it is from the command of Allah the Almighty, as stated in His saying: "And they ask you, [O Muhammad], concerning the soul. Say, 'The soul is of the affair of my Lord. And you have not been given of knowledge except a little.'"
