The answer

Whoever repents, Allah accepts his repentance, no matter how great his sins. This is indicated by the words of Allah Almighty: "Say, 'O My servants who have transgressed against themselves [by sinning], do not despair of the mercy of Allah. Indeed, Allah forgives all sins. Indeed, it is He who is the Forgiving, the Merciful.'" And His saying: "Except for those who repent, believe and do righteous deeds. For them Allah will change their evil deeds into good ones. And Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful." So, whoever repents from disbelief, Allah accepts his repentance, and even more so for lesser sins like killing a soul. We hope that Allah has forgiven this person and accepted his repentance.
