Is dedicating a page or a thread in forums to offer condolences and supplications for a deceased relative of one of the members considered a fulfillment of the duty of offering condolences for which one is rewarded, or is it an innovation (bid‘ah), by analogy with the fatwa that describes dedicating a thread to supplicate for the people of Gaza as an innovation?

"Consoling the family of the deceased is desirable. There is no harm in dedicating a thread to offer condolences for the passing of someone; there is no prohibition or innovation in this. It has previously been permissible to participate in forums that dedicate a thread for supplicating for a deceased Muslim scholar or ruler, and that this is part of encouraging prayers for the Muslim dead."
