What is the ruling on pinning threads in forums to supplicate for deceased sheikhs and rulers?

There is no harm in participating in forums and writing a supplication for a deceased Muslim scholar or ruler. This is part of the general encouragement to supplicate for deceased Muslims. Allah Almighty says: "Our Lord, forgive us and our brethren who preceded us in faith."
