The answer

Abandoning prayer, reading the Quran, and dhikr (remembrance of God) is a dangerous deviation from religion, especially if the person was previously committed. Often, the cause of such a relapse is bad company. The questioner has reached the age of accountability, and Allah Almighty has entrusted guardian angels to record all of his actions: "And indeed, [appointed] over you are guardians, noble recorders, who know whatever you do." If a person repents and returns to rectitude, then Allah transforms his evil deeds into good deeds: "Except for those who repent, believe and do righteous deeds; for them Allah will change their evil deeds into good ones." A man may perform the deeds of the people of Paradise and then his life concludes with the deeds of the people of Hellfire, or vice versa, as mentioned in the of Sahl ibn Sa'd and Ibn Mas'ud.
