How can the fire be on Earth, and the bridge (As-Sirat) be laid over Hell (Jahannam), and the Qantara be between Paradise and Hell, while Paradise is above the seventh heaven and Hell is beneath the seventh earth?

Scholars have differed concerning the location of Hell, and the most probable opinion is that it is on Earth, an opinion favored by Al-Saffarini and Ibn 'Uthaymeen. There is no problem with the thought that the Sirat (bridge) is a causeway between Paradise and Hell, because matters of the unseen and the Afterlife are not to be gauged by worldly affairs, and reason does not preclude this. Allah is Most Capable of all things. It has been reported in the description of the Sirat that it is like the edge of a razor or a sword.
