How sound is Ibn al-Qayyim's statement: "Allah made the abodes three: the abode of this world (Dar al-Dunya), the abode of the Barzakh (Dar al-Barzakh), and the abode of eternal settlement (Dar al-Qarar)"?

What is mentioned is not a prophetic hadith (definition), but rather from the words of Ibn al-Qayyim. A person goes through three stages after birth: the worldly life, the life in the Barzakh (definition), and the afterlife. The life in the Barzakh is a period for every deceased person that includes the questioning by the two angels and either bliss or torment. It differs from worldly life, and in it, the soul has an attachment to the body, the nature of which is known only to Allah. As for the abode of permanence, it is either Paradise or Hell, and it is named as such due to its everlasting nature. Each abode has its own specific bliss or torment.
