What is Barzakh? Does a disobedient Muslim live in Barzakh?

Al-Barzakh: It is the barrier between two things, and it is a period of time between a person's death and the Hour (Day of Judgment). Every deceased person, whether Muslim or disbeliever, passes through it. During this time, the trial of the grave occurs with the questioning of the two angels, followed by either bliss or torment. Al-Barzakh is the intermediate abode between this world (Dunya) and the final abode (Hereafter). Life within it is different from life in this world. In al-Barzakh, the soul remains connected to the body, even if it separates from it at times, it returns to it at other times, such as during the questioning, or for bliss, or for torment, or for returning greetings. Whether a Muslim is disobedient or obedient, they must pass through the stage of al-Barzakh, and they will be either in bliss or tormented therein until Allah resurrects them.
