Is the petitioner sinful for delaying in following up with the court and receiving the judgment deed related to his brother's death case, due to his inability to approach his father about requesting a power of attorney because of his father's distress over losing his son, despite the second party's guarantor demanding the swift completion of procedures?

We ask God to grant you solace for your brother and to forgive him and have mercy on him, and to inspire you with patience in your affliction; for the reward of patience in the face of losing a dear one is Paradise. You do not sin by delaying the receipt of the deed unless an official order reaches you or you are acting as an agent for your father. However, delaying your father's rights due to his grief is not justified, especially if it leads to the wrongful imprisonment of someone. You should strive to secure the release of the prisoner, as it involves showing kindness to people and relieving their distress. It is reported in the noble Hadith (definition) that "A Muslim is the brother of a Muslim; he neither wrongs him nor abandons him. Whoever fulfills the need of his brother, Allah will fulfill his need. Whoever relieves a Muslim of a distress, Allah will relieve him of a distress from the distresses of the Day of Resurrection. Whoever covers a Muslim [his fault], Allah will cover him on the Day of Resurrection." And the most beloved people to Allah are those most beneficial to people, and the most beloved deeds to Allah are a joy that you bring to a Muslim, or a distress that you relieve from him, or a debt that you pay off for him.
