The answer

The holy places are better than others, and texts have been narrated indicating the virtue of dying in them, especially Madinah, where the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Whoever is able to die in Madinah, let him die there, for whoever dies in Madinah, I will be a witness or an intercessor for him on the Day of Resurrection." The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, preferred his grave to be in Madinah, and Umar, may Allah be pleased with him, prayed that Allah would grant him martyrdom and that his death would be in the city of His Messenger. Weak hadiths have been reported regarding the virtue of the cemeteries of Makkah and Madinah.
