Is it permissible to remove a splint from a deceased person's leg before washing?

If removing the cast does not lead to any part of the deceased falling off, then there is no harm in doing so; rather, it is required to ensure the water covers the entire body of the deceased. However, if there is fear that removing it might cause disfigurement, then one should wipe over it.
