What was Ibn Abi Dhi'b famous for and what were his most famous works?

Ibn Abi Dhi'b was the steadfast, devout Imam Muhammad ibn Abd al-Rahman al-Madani, the jurist. He was born in the year 80 AH. He narrated from al-Zuhri, Nafi', and many others, and Ibn al-Mubarak, Yahya al-Qattan, and many others narrated from him. He resembled Sa'id ibn al-Musayyab and was superior to Malik in piety and upholding the truth. He used to criticize the Qadariyyah, strove diligently in worship, and would fast one day and break his fast the next, after which he listed other fasts. He led a rough life. He did not have a book; rather, his hadith was memorized. He was known among men of knowledge for his strictness and speaking the truth. He passed away in the year 159 AH.
