It is not permissible to give money to the father to buy alcohol, nor is it obligatory to pay his debts related to alcohol. Those who assist him in consuming it must be warned, and he must be prevented from anything that helps him drink it. Children must be kept away from associating with him while he is drinking alcohol, and it is not permissible to sit with him while he is drinking it. Efforts must be made to treat him from addiction by seeking help from people of goodness and righteousness, while treating him kindly, advising him gently, and supplicating for him.
