Is liposuction for the buttocks, posterior, and chest permissible or forbidden if it is necessary?

Cosmetic surgeries are divided into permissible and forbidden, based on their underlying motive:

- Forbidden: Those whose purpose is to seek beauty and increased attractiveness. This is considered an alteration of Allah’s creation, and evidence for this is His saying (Glorified and Exalted be He): (And I will surely command them, and they will alter the creation of Allah) [An-Nisa’/119], and the Prophet’s curse upon those who pluck eyebrows and those who make spaces between their teeth for beauty. Also, it entails other prohibitions such as anesthesia and the uncovering of awrah (private parts) without a legitimate Sharia necessity.

- Permissible: Those whose purpose is to remove an existing defect, such as restoring abnormally large buttocks or breasts to their natural state, or correcting a crooked nose, or removing a black spot. The evidence for this is that the Prophet permitted a man whose nose was cut off to use a nose made of gold, and what Al-Nawawi and Ibn ‘Uthaymeen stated regarding the permissibility of removing defects.
