What is the ruling on touching the Mus'haf (Quran) after touching a phone with hands that have become ritually impure due to madhy (prostatic fluid) or that have been placed in an unpurified location? Is this considered defiling the Mus'haf, even if no impurity is visible on the hand? And is it obligatory to wipe clean all Mus'hafs that have been touched?

Firstly, one should disregard obsessive thoughts (waswas) and extremism (tanattu') in ablution (wudu') and ritual bathing (ghusl (definition)). The treatment for obsessive thoughts is to not yield to them.

Secondly, one must strive against the self to repel satanic whispers that deprive one of the joy of worship. Ritual bathing is not prescribed merely for the occurrence of thoughts of disbelief.

Thirdly, if laughter occurs upon hearing words that include a Shariah transgression, and it is an involuntary reflex, there is no sin. However, if it is intentional, it is impermissible. In both cases, one must denounce the evil, advise the perpetrator, and leave the place.

Fourthly, if a wet hand containing madhy (pre-seminal fluid) touches a phone, or if the phone is wet and a dry hand containing madhy touches it, the point of contact becomes impure. A dry phone does not become impure by being placed in a dry, impure location. However, if the phone or the location is wet, it becomes impure to the extent of the wetness. It is impermissible to touch the Qur'an with an impure hand, even if dry, due to the defilement involved. However, the Qur'an does not become impure by this if both the hand and the Qur'an are dry. The rule for something becoming impure is the contact of the impurity's moisture, or the contact of a wet spot with a dry or wet impurity.
